Biographical/historical | “Our Fair City: The 1999 Lexington Fairness Ordinance” commemorated the 20th anniversary of the passing of Lexington’s Fairness Ordinance. The exhibit was developed through a partnership between the Lexington History Museum, the Lexington Public Library, the Faulkner Morgan Archive, and Lexington Fairness, Inc. Originally known as the "Gay Bias Law," the Fairness Ordinance protected the LGBTQ community from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations based on an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity. |
